DOCTORS SURGERIES - Driving Health Awareness through Education

Established in 1991, Waiting Room Information Services (WIS) offers a unique, totally free leaflet information service to GP surgeries and their patients. The service helps doctors and surgery staff to increase patient awareness on disease indications and lifestyle adaptation – and so far 6,000 have signed up.

Situated in surgery waiting rooms throughout the country, our healthcare service includes:

  • Wall-mounted leaflet display boards from which patients can self select leaflets of interest to themselves or others
  • Regular surgery visits by our professionally trained field team to ensure units are kept stocked, tidy and clean
  • Continuous and changing supply of quality healthcare literature

Our service is funded by the leaflet suppliers and therefore free to you. Leaflet suppliers include the Government – to promote public information campaigns – as well as national charities, a limited number of pharmaceutical companies and suppliers of other healthcare services.
